Die Cut Labels
Die-cut label printers can use a wide variety of different shapes and sizes of pre-cut labels. These are supplied in rolls stuck to backing paper. These types of printers are mainly used for address labels and barcode labels, but are also widely used for filing and general labelling.
The printers typically use thermal technology to print onto special thermal labels, so no ribbons / inks / toner or other consumables are required.
Two main brands currently dominate the Home / Office market - Dymo, which is by far the market leader with their LabelWriter range, and Brother with their QL range of desktop label printers.
