Label Printer Wizard

Not sure what type of Label Printer you need? Start Here!

Choosing a label printer can be difficult if you're not already familiar with the types of printers and different brands available. So here at Label King we've developed this Label Printer Wizard to guide you through the various types available, with explanations along the way.

Let's start by deciding what sort of label you want:

Continuous Label Tape
Continuous Label Tape

Tape printers print on a continuous label tape, which is supplied in a cartridge. The labeller prints your text (usually 1 line of text, but can be more) on the tape which is then cut using a built in tape cutter.

Useful for filing, shelving, electrical, and general home/office labelling.

Die Cut Labels
Die Cut Labels

Die-cut labels are pre-cut to a particular shape and size, and supplied on a roll of backing paper. Available in a range of sizes.

Typically used for Address Labels, Barcodes Labels, and general labelling.

Colour Product Labels
Colour Product Labels

Colour label printers are usually much more expensive and based on inkjet technology. These also typically use die-cut labels but are in a different league to the single colour thermal printers.

Typically used for product labelling (eg. wine labels, food labels, other consumer products, etc)
